Course Objectives

At the end of the training participants should be able to: 

  • Explain the dangers associated with cellphone use, distraction, and impairment while driving, and describe how these factors increase the likelihood of collisions.
  • Recognize and assess the effects of fatigue on driver alertness, reaction time, and overall performance to determine safe driving readiness.
  • Apply defensive driving principles to anticipate and respond appropriately to potential hazards and emergency situations on the road.
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain a safe following distance under various traffic, weather, and visibility conditions.
  • Inspect and evaluate vehicle systems (tires, brakes, lights, mirrors, and signals) to ensure roadworthiness and prevent mechanical-related accidents.
  • Identify and explain the consequences of the ten most dangerous driving behaviors and develop strategies to avoid them.
